Catching Eyes


THE CHALLENGE
As people we go through life with an array of experiences which cause an endless wave of emotions; euphoria to anxiety, happines to sadness. Emotions, sensations and feelings are our common denominator as people. How can I create a branding which opens up a dialogue between people, using branding to tell a story and show the viewer, reader, listener that what they are feeling, is something so commonly experienced.

THE IDEA
To use spoken word as a source of inspiration in order to highlight and appreciate the weight of words as a sense of expression and a source to understanding the people around you. 

Creating a brand which currates spoken word events, where the brand is seen on bottles of natural wine. Why? As we pass the bottle on, the story is shared, and so are the emotions triggered when reading the text.

THE WORK
Using handdrawn illustrations, and writing, the brand ‘Catching Eyes’ provides four bottles designed within a certain category of feelings and emotions.The typography and illustrations are handwritten by me, whereas I adapted each depending on the feeling I wanted to highlight. The feeling experienced is in the eye of the observer and not for me to determine.

Texts are interpreted from four spoken word performers which moved me. 
The project was designed as a proposed branding for a spoken word event.
